Innovation in Education at CASBO17
We are packing our bags and getting ready to head to Long Beach, California for the 2017 Annual Conference and California School Business Expo coming up soon April 12-15.
CASBO is the best place to connect and collaborate in school business and we’re proud to be among the presenters at this year’s event. We will join over 170 professional development sessions presented by state & national experts and 200+ exhibitors showcasing their products and solutions. We’re looking forward to once again rubbing elbows with some of the best and brightest minds in school leadership.
How To Make Your K-12 Copy/Print Environment More Efficient and Cost Effective
Our session, which will be held on Saturday, April 15 at 10:30 a.m., will discuss how to make your K-12 copy/print environment more efficient and cost effective. This is an important responsibility that is easy to overlook, but doing so can cost you. Over the past several years we have had the opportunity to work with a number of school districts throughout California. Our research shows that the typical school district in the State significantly overspends on their copier/printer program…by over 40%. This session will show you how to trim that expense while improving the performance of your machines and your contracts.
Steps to Define Your Strategy
Improving efficiency and cost effectiveness in K-12 copy/print environments requires much more than simply procuring a solution from copy/print vendors; it requires a clearly defined strategy, led by purchasing, finance and IT professionals that focuses on specific financial and operational improvements. Unfortunately, though, most people don’t know where to begin. Our session will provide practical steps to take.
We will focus on best practices that other administrators are using to make their copy/print environments more efficient and cost effective. You’ll leave with a working knowledge of these best practices; insight into how other districts have made improvements; and access to online strategic planning guides, templates and other tools.
The Visalia USD Story
But you don’t need to take just our word for it. Leading the session will be Jessica Villarreal, Purchasing Director at Visalia USD, and she’ll explain how an independent and non-bias assessment of their copier and printer environment, and the contracts and leases associated with the equipment, uncovered significant savings and improvements for the district that would have been overlooked otherwise. As a result, Visalia USD is on their way to saving over $1.5 million over the next five years.
